My name is Rowan. I am a thirty-something Catholic living in the Pacific Northwest. I have made private vows to the evangelical counsels (poverty, chastity, and obedience) as part of my Vocation to dedicated single life as a layperson. I love Jesus, I love His Church, and I love sharing that with others.

I am currently working on a Master’s in Theological Studies and am very active as a volunteer at my parish. I am particularly passionate about youth ministry, as well as accompanying people of all ages who are exploring the beauty, truth, and goodness of the Catholic Church.

A huge part of my story is my experience with mental illness, physical and psychiatric disability, trauma, and the way all of these things both make up pieces of my identity and have been (and will be!) used for the glory of God. I am alive by His grace and mercy alone. Because of all this, I have a deep desire to reach out to anyone who feels like they don’t quite fit in the Church. I know what it’s like to be an outsider, to have a very different experience of life and faith and the Church than the average Catholic.

God loves all of His children, including the black sheep and the misfits, and I pray every day that I will be able to be an earthly reminder and witness to that love.
